Snider junior Dillon Duff defeated teammate Michael Eley in the finals of the Fan Vote for to be named the boys basketball Preseason Player of the Year.
Duff earned 73.5 percent of the final vote over Eley. This came after he won a record setting semi final vote. In the semi finals, Duff edged out Carroll’s David Ejah with 56.98 percent of 13,803 votes. In the opening regional round, Duff won the Seth Colclasure Region with 43.47 percent of the vote beating out Concordia’s Jadon Dance, Northrop’s Sydney Curry, East Noble’s Hayden Jones and Huntington North’s Hank Pulver.
In total, Duff earned 11,063 votes over the three rounds to be named the Preseason Player of the Year.
Snider will open play on November 27 visiting East Noble.
