Woodlan quarterback Ben Reidy has become the first player to earn two fan vote Player of the Night wins during the 2018 season. Despite Woodlan’s loss in the opening round of Sectional play, Reidy was named the Week 10 Player of the Night, sponsored by Rico’s Barbershop.
Reidy scored three touchdowns (2 passing, 1 rushing) threw for a massive 322 yards in the loss to Bremen in Class 2A sectional play. He went on to earn over 50 percent of the fan vote with over 2,500 votes cast just for Reidy.
Over 5,000 total votes were cast with Reidy beating out the 1,900 votes for Leo’s Peyton Wall.
Other nominees included Concordia Lutheran’s Amir Drew, Central Noble’s Nick Rawles, South Adams’ James Arnold, Bluffton’s Everett Johnson, Churubusco’s Gage Kelly, Wayne’s Devonair Kelsaw, East Noble’s Kaiden Harshberger and Bishop Dwenger’s Devon Tippmann.
Voting for the Outside the Huddle Player of the Night for prep football opens each Saturday morning and runs through the following Monday night with the winner being announced each Tuesday on OutsidetheHuddle.net
