Lakeland’s Gage Paulus is Week 9’s Player of the Night

The regular season has wrapped up and for the first time, the NECC has produced the Player of the Night. Over 1,100 votes were cast overall and Lakeland’s Gage Paulus was named the Week 9 Player of the Night, sponsored by Ellen Vance of Caliber Home Loans.

Paulus carried the ball 23 times, but racked up 277 rushing yards for an average of over 12 yards per carry. He also scored five touchdowns in the big win for the Lakers over Bluffton, 56-27.

Paulus registered just under 49 percent of the fan vote.

Other nominees included Adams Central’s Bailea Sprunger, Wayne’s Xavier Ellington, Snider’s Alonzo Derrick, Jay County’s Ryan Schlechty, West Noble’s Josh Gross, Concordia Lutheran’s Amir Drew and Churubusco’s Tom Richards.
