Outside the Huddle’s Week 5 poll is complete and after a final day back and forth, it was the quarterback from Woodlan that came out on top.
Woodlan’s Ben Reidy earned over 35 percent of the final vote (1,553 total), edging North Side’s Alex Holliday-Robinson (1,380 votes) by less than 200 votes as both saw a surge in voting on Monday.
Reidy threw for 248 yards and five touchdowns on Friday night in a 49-0 win over Southern Wells in what was an Allen County Athletic Conference game. The win moved Woodlan to 3-2 overall and to 3-0 in the ACAC where they hold the lead over a pair of 2-0 teams in Adams Central and South Adams.
The total yardage nearly doubled Reidy’s output in the air this season. He has a total of 512 yards on 42-of-73 passing over five games.
Other nominees included Holliday-Robinson, Bluffton’s Everett Johnson, Snider’s Gianini Belizaire, Bishop Luers’ Norman Knapke, South Adams’ James Arnold and East Noble’s Bailey Parker.
Voting for the Outside the Huddle Player of the Night for prep football opens each Saturday morning and runs through the following Monday night with the winner being announced each Tuesday on OutsidetheHuddle.net
