Outside the Huddle is welcoming a new contributor to the website – Mr. DC Hendrix.
You can read his work at Indiana Preps, as well as listen to him and past OTH contributor Brice Vance on the Sideline Sports Show on Sunday mornings.
For OTH, Hendrix will be delving into the world of college recruiting, bringing you interviews, updates and rankings from area prospects as they look to take their talents to the next level.
But first, to welcome Hendrix to the family, we decided to have some fun, a fantasy draft of the top players in northeast Indiana from the 2025 season.
The goal for both Hendrix and Blitz? To build the best roster they possibly can.
We begin today with the offenses.
Who constructed the better roster? Let us know!
TEAM BLITZ’S OFFENSE

BLITZ’S OFFENSE REASONING
QB DAVID CALLISON: Give me a record-setting quarterback in the best conference in the area. (@Blitz_OTH if you have a problem with that statement)
RB NATHAN FOSTER: An absolute beast with relentless energy. Can also line him up on defense if needed.
RB CHRIS MHOON: Burst onto the scene this past season for the Archers. Anytime you break a single-game rushing record formerly held by an NFL player (Lamar Smith), you deserve the hype. Can also be a factor in the return game for Team Blitz.
WR JAIDON VANPELT: The most complete player in the entire area this past fall. He showed up and showed out in big games, and was an underrated defender for the Chargers in the secondary.
WR JAYVON IRBY: Blitz has the South Side dudes, despite Hendrix graduated from South Side. Hmmmm. Irby is another versatile player who can contribute at multiple positions. A perfect complement to JVP.
TE WES SUMMERSETT: He can line up at tight end or wide receiver, depending on formation that Team Blitz employs. Quick, strong and physical, he can hurt you in the short, intermediate and long passing games and is a good blocker.
OL MITCHELL MILLER: Time to load up on the beef! Miller is a mauler.
OL CAM FRAVEL: The Adams Central standout can be effective along the offensive and defensive fronts for Team Blitz. Hey, depth is key.
OL HUNTER SMITHSON: Need some NE8 flavor in the starting lineup. Smithson provides that and is as tough as they come in the trenches.
OL ISAIAH COOLMAN: Blitz has Foster, why not his top blocker? No brainer.
OL ANDREW RUDOLPH: An All-State lineman in Class 6A. Never enough of those on the roster.
AT-LARGE JAMISON ROACH: The best thing about Roach is Blitz can put him anywhere on offense and he can contribute. An entire package for him at quarterback, obviously, but he could line up as a running back or put him in motion from the outside for jet sweeps or RPOs.
TEAM HENDRIX’S OFFENSE

HENDRIX’S OFFENSE REASONING
QB RYLEE BIDDLE: The quarterback position was tough, especially since there are so many talented ones
across the area. It was tempting to go with Northrop’s David Callison or Carroll’s Gabe Frisinger, but I went to the NE8 and picked Rylie Biddle. He wrapped up his senior season with 2,142 passing yards, 23 touchdown passes and a 105.2 QBR. I chose him because of his ability to run as well. He added 662 rushing yards and 20 rushing TD’s as well this past season.
RB CALEB KIENGELE: I figured Blitz would take Nathan Foster. It’s a good thing I had a backup plan. I was Torn between Kiengele and Brandon Gaither II from Bishop Luers Luers, but ended up going with Kiengele. In nine games, he ran for 887 yards and 7 TDs. He also posesses a threat in the passing game with 200 yards receiving. With my offensive line, he should be able to help balance my offensive attack.
RB AJ SHEFFERLY: When I need a few yards for a first down, or if I’m only a few yards out from the end zone, give me Shefferly. I Watched him chew up defenses all year with his power running skills. He was a big reason for Bishop Dwenger’s state championship run. Let’s not forget about the fake field goal!
WR JERQUADEN GUILFORD: “Quay” was my top pick, and it wasn’t even a question. No player I would love to build my team around more than Guilford. He wrapped up his career at Northrop with a 1,000-plus receiving year and 14 touchdowns.
WR MADDOX WEIL: There’s so many receivers to pick from in the area. Blitz already took one I wanted, but the dynamic duo of Guilford and Weil was too hard to pass up. As a sophomore, Weil had 968 yards and 8 TD’s. Give me that duo again!
TE OWEN DODSON: Give me the kid that’s going to Air Force! For a struggling Snider program this season, Dodson stood out as one of the stars. I’ll take him for my TE.
OL JONAS MUYA: It’s time to start protecting my weapons. The first name that comes to mind is the 6-foot-7, 292-pound offensive tackle from Luers who is headed to play for the West Virginia Mountaineers. His athleticism and high-energy will bring some excitement to my O-line.
OL ANDREW TRAHIN: I’ll go to the other side of the offensive line and pick the kid that’s going to play at
Eastern Michigan. Much like Muya, Trahin is a three-star recruit, and at 6-4 and 260 pounds is a big body who has experience playing in big games. Give me Trahin.
OL ZACK WALL: For my center, give me Wall from Luers. I can’t believe Blitz allowed me to get him in the late rounds of the draft. Gotta be a steal.
OL ADAM KLINE: He’s already got a lot to prove to the haters since he was left out of any ALL-SAC
recognition. Another steal by me with Kline at guard.
OL LUCAS LENTZ: To round out my offensive line, let’s head to the NECC. Lucas earned All-NECC honors, fueled Angola’s best season in years and is a big addition to my stacked offensive line.
AT-LARGE JOB RICHMAN: I’m a huge fan of Job Richman. This kid threw for 1,300 passing yards, 20 passing TDs, and also ran for 1,700 yards and 20 rushing scores. I almost took a chance and made him
one of my RB’, but with my offense at-large, I’ll take him to either come in and complete a pass or run for some yards. He even caught some passes last year as a sophomore, so he can do that, as well.
