Top 50 Boys Basketball Countdown 2025: No. 2 – Austin Schlabach

For the seventh season in a row, Bounce and Outside the Huddle are counting down who they feel are the top 50 individual players in northeast Indiana heading into the 2025-2026 season.

Today, we head into the Annual First Five and the top preseason honor given out for basketball by Outside the Huddle.

No. 2 – AUSTIN SCHLABACH, WESTVIEW

Delivering a standout campaign that showcased his ability to score, facilitate, and lead on both ends of the floor, Schlabach led the Warriors to NECC domination, winning both the regular season and tournament titles before adding another Sectional crown to the trophy case. Schlabach shot an efficient 57% from two-point range, 34% from three, and 62% at the line. He was one of the the NECC’s top scorers at 15.6 points per game, which makes him Northeast Indiana’s sixth highest returning scorer overall. Schlabach added 5.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists per contest during his All-State season. His balance of scoring and court awareness consistently set the tone offensively.
