Matt Hinds resigns as Huntington North girls basketball coach

Huntington North announced on Tuesday the resignation of Head Girls Basketball Coach Matt Hinds after six years of leading the program.

Hinds compiled a 92-48 record during his tenure with the Vikings, achieving a 65.71% winning percentage. Under his leadership, the team earned the 2021-2022 Northeast 8 Conference (NE8) Co-Championship, amassed a 24-18 NE8 record, and celebrated 20 NE8 All-Conference selections.

Hinds also played a key role in developing individual talent, helping guide two athletes to
1,000-point careers. Across his 10-year varsity head coaching career, Hinds has posted a 155-74 overall record, maintaining a 67.69% career winning percentage.

“Coach Hinds brought strong leadership, integrity, and a commitment to excellence both on and off the court. We thank him for his dedication to Huntington North Athletics and wish him continued success in the future,” a press release for the school said.

The search for the next head coach of the Huntington North Girls Basketball program will begin
immediately.
